  • 11 episodes of local transmission of chikungunya identified in the region as of September 11, 2025: one in Landes (1 case), one in Pyrénées-Atlantiques (3 cases), one in Charente (14 cases), two in Dordogne (63 cases), one in Gironde (1 case), four in Charente-Maritime (7 cases), and one in Corrèze (2 cases);

  • One episode of local dengue transmission identified in Gironde (3 cases detected as of September 11, 2025);

  • Investigations, management, and prevention measures are underway.

Summary of imported cases

  • From May 1 to September 8, 147 imported cases of chikungunya and 111 imported cases of dengue identified as probable or confirmed, and no imported cases of Zika;

  • Most individuals were returning from a trip to French overseas territories.
