An epidemiological study on the health status, healthcare utilization, and preventive care among Travellers in Nouvelle-Aquitaine was conducted between January 2019 and March 2022. To better understand and overcome the mistrust of a socially excluded and discriminated-against population, local organizations that support them, as well as Travellers themselves, were involved in the study’s design and implementation. This approach fostered a high participation rate, providing a reliable snapshot of the health status of Travellers and their living conditions. It thus opens up avenues for reflection on preventive measures.
