Key points

Bronchiolitis (under 1 year of age)

  • Activity outside of an epidemic. Increase in hospital emergency room visits and a slight increase in SOS Médecins consultations. Virology laboratories at the region’s university hospitals report low detection of RSV. Other viruses capable of causing bronchiolitis are circulating, notably rhinoviruses.

COVID-19

  • Low activity.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

  • Post-epidemic activity. Decrease in the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations for influenza and influenza-like illness. Decrease in the detection of influenza A virus according to data from the Virology Laboratory at Rennes University Hospital and an increase in detection according to the Virology Laboratory at Brest University Hospital.

Gastroenteritis

  • High activity. Decrease in emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations across all age groups.

Pneumonia

  • Stable number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations for pneumonia.

Asthma

  • High activity. Decrease in emergency room visits and increase in SOS Médecins consultations, all ages.
