Key Points

Whooping Cough

  • In Brittany, an increase in visits to hospital emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins has been observed since April, with a sharp rise in June. In July, the upward trend continues but appears to be slowing (unconsolidated data). A follow-up update will be provided in early September.

COVID-19

  • Increased use of community emergency services and decreased use of hospital emergency departments.

Pneumonia

  • Pneumonia activity remains higher than the values typically observed for this time of year among adults.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • Low indicators.

Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea

  • Moderate activity. The indicators being monitored are close to the averages for the same period in recent seasons.

Asthma

  • Decrease in visits to community and hospital emergency departments over the past two weeks following the peak observed in week 28.

Allergies

  • Decrease in the number of emergency room visits for allergies in week 30.

  • Slight increase in the number of SOS Médecins consultations.

Chickenpox

  • Downward trend in the number of emergency room visits since early May.

  • Decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations.
