• In Week 28, admissions to long-term care facilities and the number of cases among residents increased.

Monkeypox

• As of July 28 at 12:00 PM, 161 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Heatwave

• From July 12, 2022, to July 26, 2022, amid a heatwave, Météo-France placed up to 9 departments in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes under an orange alert (Ain, Ardèche, Cantal, Drôme, Isère, Haute-Loire, Rhône, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie, representing 77.8% of the region’s resident population) and three departments under a yellow alert (Allier, Loire, and Puy-de-Dôme, representing 22.2% of the region’s resident population).

• This episode was the second of the season. It ended on July 26, 2022.

• During this same period, the proportion of heat-related medical visits recorded in emergency departments ranged from 0.3% to 0.9% across the region. Of these visits, 54% involved people aged 75 and older, and 12% involved children under 15. Adults aged 15 to 74 accounted for 34% of these visits. The hospitalization rate following a heat-related visit was 63%. Among those aged 75 and older who visited emergency departments for heat-related conditions, 76% were hospitalized.
