Key Points 

Extreme Heat, Heat Wave

  • Météo France issued a yellow heat wave alert for the island’s two departments on
    June 21, then upgraded it to orange starting June 22, 2026. This alert remains in effect as of today.

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • In Corsica, no imported cases of dengue, chikungunya, or Zika have
    been confirmed since May 1.

Pollen and allergies

  • Allergy-related activity at SOS Médecins has been declining and is now at a fairly low level
    .
  • Pollen levels are very high across the entire island.

Mortality

  • In week 25, the weekly number of deaths from all causes reported by INSEE fell within the usual range of fluctuation. As a reminder, the heat wave had not yet begun in week 25 in Corsica.
  • Data from electronic death certificates show an increase in deaths in Week 26, but the data still need to be consolidated, as coverage and staffing levels in Corsica are low.
