Vaccination Coverage Among Residents and Staff in Long-Term Care Facilities for the 2023–2024 Season

The following were vaccinated against the flu:

  • 83.3% [82.7–83.8] of nursing home residents

  • 22.4% [21.7–23.1] of staff working in nursing homes

  • 64.9% [59.6 – 70.1] of residents in long-term care facilities (excluding nursing homes)

  • 26.8% [20.3–33.2] of healthcare professionals working in long-term care facilities (excluding nursing homes)

  • 69.3% [66.6–71.9] of residents in EHPH4 facilities were vaccinated against the flu

  • 13.5% [12.6 – 14.5] of healthcare professionals working in EHPH

  • 31.2% [22.7–39.7] of residents in other ESMS

  • 18.5% [12.6–24.4] of healthcare professionals working in other ESMS

Had been vaccinated against COVID-19

  • 68.4% [67.3–69.6] of residents in nursing homes

  • 52.9% [46.6 – 59.1] of residents in long-term care facilities (excluding nursing homes)

  • 48.3% [45.0 – 51.6] of residents in EHPH

  • 18.8% [11.0 – 26.5] of residents in other ESMS

Flu vaccination coverage among ESMS residents is high but lower than in the previous season. Flu vaccination coverage among healthcare professionals is low and declining. COVID-19 vaccination
coverage among residents is insufficient and lower than that for the flu.
