There is no mental health without social justice

Mental health is not merely a matter of disorders or individual circumstances. It is shaped, weakened, or strengthened by a wide range of social, economic, political, and cultural factors. To improve everyone’s mental well-being, we must address these determinants proactively. This requires moving away from a care-centered approach toward coordinated multisectoral policies on housing, employment, the fight against poverty and discrimination, and so on.
