Since 1990, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been warning about the wide range and severity of the impacts of climate change, as well as the need for adaptation. This adaptation must be further strengthened in France, despite the implementation in 2006 of a national climate change adaptation strategy—whose primary objective was the protection of public health—and two successive national adaptation plans.
