Key Points

  • Continued increase in vaccination uptake among infants covered by the expanded vaccination mandate:

    • +6.4 percentage points for vaccination coverage of the third dose of the vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B (2017 cohort: 84.1%; 2019 cohort: 90.5%)

    • + 1.7 percentage points for vaccination coverage of the third dose of the pneumococcal vaccine (2017 cohort: 89.3%; 2019 cohort: 91.0%)

    • +12.2 percentage points for vaccination coverage of the first dose of the meningococcal C vaccine (2018 cohort: 75.8%; 2020 cohort: 88.0%)

    • +9.2 percentage points for vaccination coverage of the meningococcal C vaccine booster (2017 cohort: 81.0%; 2019 cohort: 90.2%)

  • Increase in vaccination coverage among children and adolescents born before the law took effect

    • +5.8 percentage points for vaccination coverage of the first dose of the HPV vaccine among 15-year-old girls born in 2005 (40.7%) compared to girls born in 2004 (34.9%)

    • Increase in catch-up vaccination coverage for meningococcal C in all age groups over 2 years of age

  • Continued increase in vaccination uptake

    • 80.0% of respondents say they are in favor of vaccination in general (73.9% in 2019)
