Measles: Mandatory Reporting and New Vaccination Measures

The strategy for measles elimination is outlined here. To eliminate measles, it is necessary to increase vaccination coverage among children, vaccinate unvaccinated generations or communities, and vaccinate unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated healthcare workers who care for at-risk individuals. Confirmation of each diagnosis is essential. Surveillance based on the mandatory reporting system is necessary. Reporting will enable investigation of one or more measles cases and understanding of the determinants of viral circulation, as well as the implementation of targeted preventive measures.
