The "Health and Prevention" survey was conducted as part of a partnership with the pharmacy profession (the Order and unions). It builds on the approach taken with the "Barometers" for adults, young people, and general practitioners. This study, conducted among a random sample of 1,000 community pharmacists, shows that they are very supportive of prevention. In their personal lives, they are mindful of prevention. The smoking rate among them is lower than in the general population and among general practitioners. More than half of pharmacists are vaccinated against hepatitis B, and two-thirds have already taken an HIV test. Links are evident between their personal practices and their attitudes toward their customers. Finally, while they believe they play an important role in prevention, pharmacists highlight the practical difficulties they face in intervening in areas other than medication.

This book is intended for anyone interested in prevention and patient education, particularly community pharmacists.
