SOS Médecins National Newsletter, September 7, 2010

The SOS La Rochelle association has joined the SOS Médecins/InVS surveillance system and has been submitting its data since August 28, 2010. This association will be included in the bulletin after three months of data submission.

This week, the monitored indicators have changed: heat-related illnesses, fainting spells, fevers, and allergies have been replaced by monitoring of respiratory conditions in infants, gastroenteritis, and asthma.

Over the past week, the total volume of activity for SOS Médecins associations has remained stable across all age groups. A slight increase has been observed in the Île-de-France region, specifically among children.

The number of calls for the "Asthma" and "Respiratory Conditions" indicators is increasing, particularly in the Northeast, West, and Île-de-France regions, which is typical for this time of year and is also being observed in emergency departments. The "gastroenteritis" indicator is stable compared to last week. The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins associations increased toward the end of the past week. This increase is observed in the Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest regions.
