Summary

In week 35 (August 27 to September 2), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children (+10.7%, or +1,207 visits) and remained stable or declined among adults.

Most non-specific indicators were stable or declining, for both children and adults. However, there was a notable increase in visits for asthma among children aged 2–14 (+29.2%, or +35 visits).

Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in consultations for: insect bites among children aged 2–14 (+13%, or 34 visits), allergies in children (+20%, or +66 visits) and adults (+4%, or +33 visits), as well as infectious conjunctivitis in children under 2 years of age (+26%, or +16 visits) and adults aged 15–74 (+6%, or +10 visits). The levels observed are comparable to those of the past two years, both in terms of patient numbers and share of activity.

In line with overall activity, the most common conditions are mostly on the rise among children, particularly visits for gastroenteritis (+30%), vomiting (+40%), and abdominal pain (+13%), as well as bronchitis (+21%), ENT conditions—particularly among children under 2 years of age (+15%)—and trauma among children aged 2–14 (+20%).
