Activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to rise over the past week (+12%) both nationally and regionally, with patient numbers slightly higher than in 2011 and 2012. This increase was particularly pronounced among children under 15 years of age (+19%).Over this period, there was a sharp increase across all age groups, on the one hand in respiratory conditions: acute lower respiratory tract infections (+56%, 2,667 cases), including bronchitis (+62%, 1,970 cases), and on the other hand, ENT conditions: nasopharyngitis (+44%, 5,275 cases), tonsillitis (+11%, 2,333 cases), otitis (+38%, 1,977 cases), and laryngitis/tracheitis (+47%, 1,940 cases).
The asthma attack indicator continues to rise (+25% across all ages, 664 cases) both nationally and regionally and accounts for 1.5% of the associations’ activity. This trend is comparable to that observed in 2012 during the same period and higher than in 2011. All age groups starting at age 5 are affected by this increase, which is more pronounced among adults. The allergy indicator remained stable over the period for all age groups, with numbers comparable to 2011 and 2012. The gastroenteritis indicator has risen slightly (+10%), with numbers comparable to 2012 and higher than in 2011. This trend affects those aged 5–14 (+13%, 449 cases) and those aged 15–74 (+12%, 1,379 cases).ENT and respiratory conditions, along with gastroenteritis, were the main diagnoses reported by SOS Médecins associations over the past week.
