In week 35 (August 26–September 1, 2019), SOS Médecins’ total activity saw an overall increase (+3.6%, or +2,125 visits). This increase was driven by the 2-14 age group (+22.5%, or +1,889 visits) and children under 2 (+8.6%, or +255 visits). Activity decreased among those over 75 (-9.5%, or –718 visits).

Over the past week, certain conditions among the most common have seen an increase. Across all age groups, upper respiratory tract conditions (+11.5%, or +1,125 cases) and gastroenteritis (+9.5%, or +334 cases) are on the rise, with those under 15 years old (+25.7% and +20.6%, respectively) being the most affected. There is also an increase in viral syndromes among those under 15 (+37.6%, or +97 cases).

Non-specific and seasonal indicators are mostly stable or on the rise, notably:

  • isolated fever in all age groups (+25%, or +244 cases),

  • insect bites among 2- to 14-year-olds (+14.5%, or +45 cases) and those over 75 (+50%, or +12 cases),

  • allergies among 2- to 14-year-olds (+16.9%, or +48 cases),

  • viral meningitis among those aged 15–74 (+114%, or +8 cases).
