Summary

In week 37 (September 10–16), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose sharply among children (+39%, or 5,627 visits), while it increased moderately among those aged 15–74 (+6%, or 2,284 visits) and declined among those over 75 (-6%, or 361 visits).

Among nonspecific indicators, there was an increase in visits for asthma, which was more pronounced among those under 15 (+75%, or 262 visits) than among those aged 15–74 (+12%, or 46 visits). In moderate numbers, visits for dehydration across all ages (+51%, or +17 visits) and general malaise among those aged 2–14 (+200%, or +16 visits) are also on the rise.

Among seasonal indicators, there was an increase in visits for allergies (+25%, or +102 visits) and chickenpox (+28%, or +16 visits) among those under 15, for burns (+32%, or +16 visits) among those aged 15–74, and for allergies (+17%, or +9 visits) among those over 75. Among children aged 2–14, visits for meningitis (+133%, or +4 visits) and heatstroke (+400%, or +4 visits) are on the rise, though the numbers remain low.

Among children and adults aged 15–74, the most common conditions show a marked increase in visits for ENT infections (up 72% and 21%, respectively), gastroenteritis (up 21% and 10%, respectively), and bronchitis (up 66% and 19%, respectively). Also noteworthy are: - among children, an increase in visits for vomiting (+13%), viral syndrome, and trauma (respectively +38% and +8% among 2- to 14-year-olds) - among the elderly, an increase in visits for death (+11%) and pneumonia (+12%).
