Summary

In week 40 (October 1–7), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children under 2 years of age (+8%, or +444 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

Among nonspecific indicators, there was an increase in visits for vomiting among children (+23%, or +87 visits) and adults (+7%, or +32 visits), malaise among adults aged 15 and older (+13%, or +38 visits), and isolated fever among children under 2 years of age (+24%, or +41 visits). Asthma is on the rise again among children under 15 years of age (+10%, or +52 visits), with a higher volume of activity than in the previous two years.

Among seasonal indicators, there was an increase in visits for respiratory tract conditions, particularly bronchitis (+13%, or +446 visits), across all age groups. In addition, there was an increase in visits for gastroenteritis (+11%, or +509 visits) across all age groups except adults aged 75 and older, and for infectious conjunctivitis among children under 15 (+33%, or +91 visits).

Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for diarrhea (+18%) among children under 2 years of age, abdominal pain (+7%) among adults, and general malaise and trauma (+13% and +11%, respectively) among adults aged 75 and older.
