Summary

In week 43 (October 23–29, 2017), the first week of the All Saints’ Day school break, the total activity of SOS Médecins associations declined slightly (-4%). This decline was observed among children aged 2–14 (-16%) and, to a lesser extent (-3%), among adults aged 15–74. In the other age groups (children under 2 and adults aged 75 and older), there was an 8% increase in activity.

Among seasonal conditions, the same trend described above is observed, namely an increase in consultations: - among children under 2 years old for allergies (+42%), bronchiolitis (+35%), asthma (+29%), bronchitis (+12%), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+9%), - among adults aged 75 and older for general malaise (+47%), bronchitis (+23%), and isolated fever (+22%). Conversely, among children aged 2–14 and, to a lesser extent, among adults aged 15–74, all indicators are declining.

Among the most common conditions, adults aged 75 and older saw a 26% increase in consultations for low back pain and sciatica, an 18% increase for trauma, and a 14% increase for heart failure and urinary tract infections.
