SOS Médecins National Newsletter, November 30, 2010

Between weeks 46 and 47, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased by 8.5%. This increase was driven by pediatric cases: a 21% rise for children under 2 and those aged 2–14. Activity remained stable for adults and those over 75.

Calls for "bronchiolitis and respiratory conditions in infants" among children under 2 years old increased by 30% compared to the previous week. They account for more than half of the calls for this age group.

The "gastroenteritis" indicator has continued to rise steadily since early September. It accounts for just over 15% of call reasons.

Compared to the previous week, clinical influenza diagnoses have increased among those aged 2–14 and 15–64. The reasons for calls regarding flu-like symptoms have also increased for these age groups. These indicators remain stable among people over 65.

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins is similar to that of the previous week.
