Key Points
In Week 46 (November 14–20, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children aged 2–14 (+19%, or +4,372 visits) and decreased in other age groups.
After a decline in Week 45 following the school holidays, cases of bronchiolitis among children under 2 years old are stable but remain at a level significantly higher than those observed in previous years. Among respiratory conditions, there is also an increase in cases of influenza/flu-like illness across all age groups (+33%, or +860 cases) and, among 2- to 14-year-olds, a resurgence in cases of asthma attacks (+26%, or +166 cases), pneumonia (+42%, or +114 cases), bronchitis (+52%, or +612 cases), and ENT conditions (+24%, or +2,969 cases).
Consultations for suspected COVID-19 are also on the rise among children (+27%, or +99 consultations) and those aged 15–44 (+10%, or +121 consultations), and remain stable among those aged 45 and older. Among other conditions, there was an increase in cases of general malaise among those aged 15–74 (+14%, or +24 consultations).
