Over the past week, overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics has remained stable both nationally and regionally, comparable to 2010 and 2011. However, there has been a slight increase in this indicator among children aged 5–14 (+13%), primarily due to gastroenteritis.
Diagnoses of gastroenteritis are on the rise (+16%), with numbers slightly higher than in 2011 and 2012; this increase is observed among children under 5 (+26%), those aged 5–14 (+28%), and those under 75 (+12%). Calls to SOS Médecins for gastroenteritis account for 19% of the total activity of the network’s partner organizations. The asthma indicator has remained stable over the period, following a sharp decline over the past two weeks, at a level comparable to the 2011–2012 season. Flu-related activity is stable across all age groups and comparable to the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons; calls for flu-like symptoms across all age groups account for 30% of the total activity of SOS Médecins associations.Among children under 2 years of age, there has been a decline over the past week in bronchiolitis diagnoses (-21%; 269 cases); calls for respiratory conditions account for 44% of SOS Médecins activity for this age group.
The main conditions reported are gastroenteritis and ENT conditions (nasopharyngitis, tonsillitis, and otitis). The mortality rate is stable and remains at levels comparable to those of 2011 and 2012 for the same period.
