Summary
In Week 18 (April 30–May 6), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable among children and increased by 6% among those aged 15–74 (+2,058 visits) and by 12.3% among those aged 75 and older (+848 visits).
The majority of visits for seasonal illnesses decreased across all age groups, with the exception of visits for insect bites among children (+11.8%, or +23 visits).
Among non-specific indicators, there was an increase in visits for isolated fever among children under 2 years of age (+14%, or +38 visits) and adults (+18%, or +71 visits). Visits for malaise also increased among adults aged 75 and older (+28%, or +22 visits).
Among the most common conditions in children, there was an increase in visits for dental problems among those under 2 years old (+54%, +41 visits) and among 2- to 14-year-olds for trauma (+20.5%, or +68 visits), acute abdominal pain (+16.5%, 53 more visits), and vomiting (+14.4%, 33 more visits). Among adults, there was an increase in visits for low back pain/sciatica (+15.6%, 363 more visits) and urinary tract infections (+14.5%, 2,577 more visits). Also noteworthy, among those aged 15–74, is the increase in acute abdominal pain (+12.2%, or +139 visits), and among those aged 75 and older (for whom the most common conditions are mostly on the rise), an increase in visits for general malaise (+24.6%, or +75 visits), anxiety (+41.5%, or +63 visits), and heart failure (+23%, or +41 visits).
Finally, visits for measles are on the rise among adults (+13 visits).
