Summary
In Week 18 (April 29–May 5, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity decreased among children under 2 years of age (-10%) and remained stable in other age groups.
Over the past week, in line with the spring season, there was an increase in cases of insect bites among 2- to 14-year-olds (+22%, or +27 cases) and 15- to 74-year-olds (+9%, or +17 cases), and in cases of allergies among those aged 75 and older (+39%, or +24 cases). There was also an increase in cases of isolated fever (+19%, or +142 cases) among children aged 2–14 and adults, and for general malaise among those aged 15–74 (+9%, or +21 cases).
Among the most common procedures, increases were observed for: - viral syndrome (+6%) among children under 15; - acute abdominal pain (+7%) among those aged 2–14; - ENT conditions (+9%) among those aged 2–14 and 15–74; - deterioration in general health (+14%) among those aged 75 and older; - trauma among children aged 2–14 and adults (+24%, +8% respectively).
