Key Points

In Week 18 (April 28–May 4, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased among children under 2 years of age (-9%, or 499 fewer visits) and among adults, primarily those aged 15–74 (-13%, or 7,091 fewer visits). It remained stable among those aged 2–14. During Week 18, there was a sharp decrease in activity on Tuesday, April 29 (-83% compared to Tuesday, April 22) due to a strike and an increase in activity on Thursday, May 1 (+29%).

Among both children and adults, there was an increase in SOS Médecins visits:

  • for allergies (+35%, or +629 cases across all ages), at levels higher than those of the past three years among adults. Cases for allergies were the 6th most common condition over the past week and accounted for 3.4% of total coded activity;

  • for insect bites (+83%, or +353 cases across all ages), at levels higher than those of the past three years;

  • for heatstroke, primarily among those aged 2–74 (114 cases in week 18 across all ages vs. 7 cases the previous week), linked to rising temperatures;

  • for trauma (+6%, or +200 cases across all ages), at levels that remain higher than those of the past three years.

There was also an increase in cases:

  • among children: for dermatological issues (+15%, or +56 cases) and scarlet fever (+20%, or +20 cases), as well as, among 2- to 14-year-olds, for isolated fever (+13%, or +41 cases) and stomatological issues (+24%, or +70 cases);

  • among adults aged 75 and older for heart failure (+20%, or +34 visits).
