Key Points

  • In Week 20 (May 15–21, 2023), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children (+8%, or 1,836 visits) and those aged 75 and older (+5%, or 33 visits), and remained stable among those aged 15–74.

  • The increase in activity observed among children is mainly driven by:

    • Respiratory conditions: bronchitis (+29%, or +180 visits), asthma (+18%, or +73 visits), and ENT conditions (+17%, or +1,793 visits). Among children under 2 years of age, among the most common conditions, procedures for bronchiolitis (+57%, or +70 procedures) were on the rise but remained at a level comparable to previous years.

    • Procedures for conjunctivitis (+25%, or +238 procedures), allergies (+12%, or +87 procedures), and injuries in children under 2 years of age (+38%, or +20 procedures).

  • Among adults, there was an increase in procedures for allergies (+22%, or +253 procedures) and insect bites (+26%, or +64 procedures). Among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in procedures for malaise (+49%, or +23 procedures), anxiety (+25%, or +48 procedures), low back pain (+19%, or +50 procedures), and abdominal pain (+18%, or +28 procedures).
