Summary

  • In week 12 of 2017, all-cause activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to rise slightly among children aged 2–14 (+5%). It remained stable among children under 2 and adults.

  • Among seasonal conditions, asthma and allergy indicators are stable or declining across all age groups, with activity rates comparable to those of 2014–2015 during this period. Furthermore, there has been a continued increase in consultations for isolated fever among children aged 2–14 and adults aged 15–74, as well as for upper respiratory tract conditions across all age groups except for those aged 75 and older. Activity levels are comparable to previous years for the isolated fever indicator and slightly higher for upper respiratory tract conditions. Influenza activity has stabilized at an end-of-epidemic level. There is also an increase in activity for gastroenteritis among people aged 75 and older (+18.5%). However, the levels observed for adults remain comparable to previous years.

  • Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for viral syndrome (+13%) among children under 2 years of age, for chickenpox among children (+22%), and for anxiety among adults (+9.5%).
