Key Points

In Week 11 (March 14–20, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among 2- to 14-year-olds (+16%, or +2,718 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

For the second consecutive week, cases involving suspected COVID-19 rose sharply among 2- to 14-year-olds (+39%, or +142 cases) and more moderately among adults (+8%, or +93 cases). In total, 1,786 cases (vs. 1,551 cases in Week 10) were recorded across all age groups (i.e., +15% vs. +18% in Week 10 and -0.2% in Week 9). Suspected COVID-19 cases rank 6th among children aged 2–14 and 8th among those aged 15–74 in the list of most common conditions. At the regional level, cases are rising in several regions, primarily in Corsica (+195%, or +80 cases), Pays de la Loire (+55%, or +49 cases), Ile-de-France (+16%, or +41 cases), and Centre-Val de Loire (+375%, or +15 cases).
Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 332,458 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

For the second consecutive week, influenza has risen sharply across all age groups: +24% among children under 2, +60% among 2- to 14-year-olds, +26% among 15- to 74-year-olds, and +22% among those aged 75 and older (representing +2,612 cases across all age groups). Most other indicators are on the rise among 2- to 14-year-olds, particularly respiratory indicators (bronchitis: +16%, or +127 cases; ENT infections: +18%, or +1,239 cases), at levels consistent with previous years. Procedures for gastroenteritis are down across all age groups (-8%).
Among other indicators, with moderate numbers, infectious conjunctivitis in children (+14%) and asthma across all ages (+13%) are on the rise (at levels consistent with previous years).
