SOS Médecins National Newsletter, March 2, 2010

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased slightly compared to the previous week, except in the Southeast region.

Nationally, the reasons for calls suggesting flu-like symptoms have remained stable across all geographic regions for over a month. Over the past week, diagnoses of "clinical flu" have remained stable at a very low level across all age groups: these diagnoses account for less than 1% of activity. The proportion of cases for the "gastroenteritis" indicator has been declining for several weeks but still accounts for more than 20% of calls. The proportion of cases for the "bronchiolitis/respiratory conditions in infants" indicator has decreased in all geographic regions. The number of deaths certified by the SOS Médecins associations is similar to that of the previous week.

For the past week, a slight decrease in total activity was observed in most regions.
