Key Points
In Week 11 (March 10–16, 2025), compared to the previous week, activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children aged 2–14 (+10%, or +1,933 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.
Among children, in connection with the start of the school year, there was an increase in cases of acute digestive disorders: gastroenteritis (+11%, or +305), vomiting (18%, or 44 more cases), and among 2- to 14-year-olds for abdominal pain (+19%, or 84 more cases), an increase also observed among those aged 75 and older (+12%, or 19 more cases). Regarding respiratory indicators, there was also an increase among 2- to 14-year-olds for bronchitis (+24%, or +141 cases), pneumonia (+43%, or +62 cases), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+15%, or +1,188 cases). Procedures for asthma attacks are also on the rise in this age group (+41%, or +117 procedures) as well as among those aged 15–74 (+7%, or +35 procedures).
Furthermore, among children, procedures for trauma (+13%, or +86 procedures) and for chickenpox (+30%, or +67 procedures) are up this week compared to the previous week.
Among adults, procedures for anxiety are up (+11%, or +134 procedures), a trend observed since early February. There was also an increase in procedures for feeling unwell (+29%, or +46 procedures) and urinary tract infections (+7%, or +98 procedures).
