SOS Médecins National Newsletter, March 15, 2011

The total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics has decreased slightly by nearly 3.4% compared to last week. This trend applies to all age groups. In the Centre/Île-de-France, North, and Southwest regions, however, activity for children aged 2–14 has increased slightly.

Across all age groups, the number of calls for flu-like symptoms and clinical flu diagnoses is down; in particular, there has been a 42.4% decrease in diagnoses. This trend is observed in all regions and all age groups.

Calls for "bronchiolitis and respiratory conditions in infants" among children under 2 years of age also decreased over the past week at the national level. However, a slight increase is noted in the Centre/Île-de-France and Southwest regions. The share of these calls in total activity for this age group remains stable.

Activity related to the "gastroenteritis" indicator shows a slight decrease over the past week, though its share of total activity remains stable, at around 6% of coded diagnoses.

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins associations is similar to last week’s. The number of measles diagnoses increased over the past week among adults over 15 years of age and remained stable among children compared to the previous week.
