SOS Médecins National Newsletter, June 6, 2017

Summary

  • In week 22 of 2017 (May 29–June 4), the overall activity of SOS Médecins clinics decreased across all age groups, particularly among children under 2 years of age (-11%) and people aged 75 and older (-10%). It remains at levels comparable to previous years.

  • Unlike in Week 21, visits for seasonal and summer-related conditions were generally stable or declining across all age groups. However, there has been an increase in visits for isolated fever among children (+11%) and for conditions related to insect bites among children under 2 and adults (respectively: +46%, corresponding to 23 cases, and +6%, corresponding to 26 cases). For these two types of visits, as well as for heat-related conditions and conjunctivitis to a lesser extent, the observed levels are slightly higher than in the previous two years.

  • Among the other most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for viral syndrome across all age groups (+11%) and for abdominal pain in children (+13%).
