Summary

In Week 22 (May 28–June 3), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable for children aged 2–14 and decreased for children under 2 years old (–6.4%, or 307 fewer visits) and for adults (–6.1%, or 2,615 fewer consultations), particularly among those aged 75 and older.

Visits related to seasonal illnesses were mostly stable or down in Week 22, for both adults and children. However, there was a slight increase in visits for insect bites (+5%, +38 visits across all ages) and burns among adults aged 15–74 (+15.7%, or +10 visits). Among children aged 2–14, an increase was also observed for chickenpox (+29%, or +94 visits) and hyperthermia/heatstroke (+72%, or +10 visits).

Among non-specific indicators, there was an increase in visits for isolated fever in children (+61%, or +152 visits) and malaise in adults aged 15–74 (+15%, or +37 visits). For all these indicators, the proportion of associated activity is comparable to that of the previous two years.

Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for acute abdominal pain among children aged 2–14 (+15.8%, or +58 visits) and adults aged 75 and older (+17.7%, or +31 visits). The most common conditions among children under 2 and adults aged 15–74 are all stable or declining.
