Key Points

  • In Week 26, compared to the previous week, activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.

  • Heat-related conditions continue to rise, with an increase in heatstroke cases across all age groups (+17%, or +69 cases), particularly pronounced among children under 2 years old (+89%, or +8 cases) and those aged 75 and older (+30%, or +6 cases). Dehydration is also on the rise, with a more pronounced increase among those under 15 (+550%, or +11 cases) and those aged 15–74 (+46%, or +11 cases), while levels remain stable at high levels among those aged 75 and older. Fainting spells are also on the rise among those aged 15–74 (+14%, or +31 cases).

  • Conditions related to insect bites and allergies continue to rise. Treatments for insect bites are increasing among those aged 2–14 (+11%, or +52 cases) and adults (+18%, or +176 cases), exceeding the peak observed in 2023 in terms of activity. Similarly, allergies are on the rise among those aged 75 and older (+33%, or +15 cases).

  • Gastrointestinal conditions show a further increase. Cases of gastroenteritis are rising across all age groups (+5%, or +236 cases), with a marked increase among children under 2 and those aged 75 and older. Vomiting is on the rise among adults (+26%, or +71 cases), and diarrhea is increasing among children under 2 years of age (+26%, or +22 cases).

  • Viral and respiratory conditions are on the rise among children. Consultations for viral syndromes (+21%, or +109 consultations) and bronchitis (+13%, or +66 consultations) are increasing among those under 15, while upper respiratory tract conditions are rising among those aged 2–14 (+6%, or +523 consultations). Consultations for isolated fever are increasing among children under 15 (+14%, or +146 consultations, rising steadily for the past 3 weeks) and among those aged 15–74 (+10%, or +36 consultations).

  • Among those aged 75 and older, cases of general health deterioration (+12%, or +37 cases) and urinary tract infections (+9%, or +20 cases) are on the rise.
