Key Points
In Week 22 (May 27–June 2, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among those aged 75 and older and remained stable in other age groups.
Among respiratory indicators, there was an increase in procedures for bronchiolitis in children under one year of age (+12%, or +15 procedures). Among 2- to 14-year-olds, indicators continued to rise, with an increase in procedures for upper respiratory tract conditions (+7%, or +684 procedures), acute bronchitis (+6%, or 53 more cases), asthma attacks (+11%, or 50 more cases), and suspected COVID-19 infection (+84%, or 46 more cases). Additionally, there was an increase in cases of influenza/influenza-like illness across all age groups (+10%, or 172 more cases). Among adults, there was an increase in cases for suspected COVID-19 infection (+28%, or +191 cases), but the levels observed remain lower than in previous years.
Among other indicators, there was an increase in cases of chickenpox among children (+29%, or +184 cases) and, among children under 2 years of age, an increase in cases of various dental/ENT conditions (+32%, or +32 cases) as well as cases of viral syndrome, which continued to rise (+7%, or +9 cases). Among adults, there was an increase in procedures for depressive disorders (+30%, or +67 procedures).
