Summary

In Week 26 (June 22–28, 2020), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose sharply among children (+28%, or +2,316 visits) and remained stable among adults.

Over the past week, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 rose by 22%, with a more pronounced increase among children (up 88%, or 110 procedures) and those aged 75 and older (up 28%, or 14 procedures). The increases range from +66% to +12% across 8 regions (Normandy, Occitanie, Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Pays de la Loire, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Grand Est). Their share of total activity is stable at 2.17% (vs. 1.9% in S25).
By region, Île-de-France (22%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (13%), Normandy (10%), and PACA (10%) recorded the highest number of procedures for suspected COVID-19.
Since the start of monitoring, 59,088 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Against the backdrop of an overall increase in SOS Médecins’ activity, the majority of seasonal and non-specific indicators are on the rise.
Among the seasonal indicators, notable increases were observed in procedures for:

• insect bites in all age groups (+34%), with the highest increase among children under 2 years old (+87%, or +40 cases);

• allergies in children (+27%, or +115 cases).

Among other indicators, there has been an increase in procedures for:

• malaise in 2- to 14-year-olds (+85%, or +11 visits);

• ENT infections in children and those aged 15–74 (+33%, or +1,384 visits);

• isolated fever in children and adults (+31%, or +175 visits, and +6%, or +27 visits, respectively);

• trauma among 2- to 14-year-olds and 15- to 74-year-olds (+19%, or +372 cases).
