Key Points

  • In Week 24 (June 12–18, 2023), activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.

  • In line with weather conditions, there was an increase in cases of heatstroke across all age groups (+63%, or +106 cases), insect bites among those under 75 (+25%, or +232 cases), and, in small numbers, dehydration among adults (+14%, or +9 cases).

  • It should be noted that cases of conjunctivitis across all age groups remain at a very high level but are beginning to decline. Cases of asthma attacks and allergies, which were particularly high in weeks 22 and 23, are also declining, except among those aged 75 and older for allergies (+15%, or +8 cases), and are returning to levels comparable to previous years.

  • Among children, there was an increase in cases of isolated fever (+21%, or +181 cases) and scarlet fever (+17%, or +42 cases), which remain at a higher level than in previous years. Among children under 2 years of age, there was an increase in cases of viral syndrome (+19%, or +29 cases).

  • Among adults, there was an increase in cases for general malaise (+14%, or +36 cases). Among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in cases for deaths (+15%, or +44 cases) and heart disease (+11%, or +15 cases).

  • Finally, regarding mental health, there was an increase in cases of anxiety across all age groups (+9%, or +105 cases).
