Summary

In Week 23 (June 7–13, 2021), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.

After stabilizing in Week 20, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 resumed their decline across all age groups for the third consecutive week (874 procedures in Week 23 vs. 1,340 in Week 22, a decrease of 35%). At the regional level, SOS Médecins procedures for suspected COVID-19 are down in all regions. Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 223,023 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Seasonal indicators are on the rise, with marked increases in heatstroke (+131%, or +110 cases), dehydration (+63%, or +43 cases), insect bites (+36%, or +267 cases), and allergies (+23%, or +583 cases) across all age groups. Among children, there was an increase in cases of chickenpox (+27%, or +97 cases), infectious conjunctivitis (among 2- to 14-year-olds only, +17%), and gastrointestinal symptoms among children under 2 years of age. Among adults aged 75 and older, the two main increases were observed in procedures for urinary tract infections and abdominal pain (up 26% and 10%, respectively).
