SOS Médecins National Newsletter, June 14, 2011

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose sharply across all age groups compared to the previous week and in all geographic areas. This increase in demand is due to the long Pentecost weekend.

The "malaise" indicator remained stable over the past week across all age groups. SOS Médecins activity related to fevers (reasons for calls and diagnoses) rose sharply over the past week across all age groups. Allergies are on the decline.

A spike in insect bites was observed last weekend. Other conditions potentially linked to heat (heatstroke, dehydration) show no particular trend. The "gastroenteritis" indicator is slightly up. The number of chickenpox diagnoses has also increased in recent days (graphs not shown).

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins associations remained stable over the past week.
