Summary

In Week 22 (May 25–31, 2020), the third week of the easing of lockdown measures, total SOS Médecins activity increased by 4% among children aged 2–14 (+291 cases) and by 9% among adults aged 15–44 (+1,799 cases).

Over the past week, there were 1,625 cases involving suspected COVID-19, representing a 26% decrease across all age groups compared to the previous week (2,210 cases in Week 21). Their share of total activity also decreased, accounting for 3% (vs. 5% in Week 21). By region, Île-de-France (19%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (16%), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (10%), Grand-Est (9%), and PACA (9%) recorded the highest number of cases due to suspected COVID-19.
Since the start of surveillance, 54,642 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Among other conditions, there has been an increase in seasonal indicators, including allergies (+38%, or +890 cases), asthma (+40%, or +114 cases), and conjunctivitis (+58%, or +88 cases). There has also been an increase across all age groups for trauma (+6%, or +158 cases) and gastroenteritis (+17%, or +252 cases).
Finally, although the numbers are small, medical procedures for anxiety (+30%) among those under 15, pneumonia (+12%), and stroke (+8%) among those 15 and older, as well as heart failure (+15%) among those 65 and older, are on the rise.
