SOS Médecins National Newsletter, June 1, 2010

This week marks the start of the summer bulletin, which tracks the following symptom-based indicators: fainting spells, heat-related effects, fever, allergies, insect bites, and deaths.

Data from the SOS Médecins Oise association are now included in the bulletin.

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins locations decreased compared to the previous week across all age groups. This decrease was observed in all regions.

The first calls related to direct heat effects were recorded over the Pentecost weekend (May 22, 23, and 24), a period marked by the first heat waves recorded in France. The number of calls for the "malaise" and "fever" indicators remained stable across all age groups. The "allergies" indicator has decreased compared to last week. "Insect bites," which had risen sharply over the Pentecost weekend, subsequently decreased.

The number of deaths certified by SOS Médecins is similar to that of the previous week.
