Overall Activity Trends: Over the past week, SOS Médecins activity has remained stable across all age groups, both nationally and regionally. Patient numbers are consistent with those observed in 2012 and 2013.
Trends in Major Conditions The main reasons for consultations are ENT infections and ear infections in children, with an increase in chickenpox (+31%, or +90 cases). Among adults, consultations primarily concern sore throats and gastroenteritis. Among those over 75, consultations for heart conditions and dizziness have increased slightly, though with small numbers (+15% and +47%, or +19 and +35 cases, respectively).
Trends in Seasonal Indicators: Consultations for heatstroke, which had increased at the beginning of last week and then decreased by the end of the week, are down this week across all age groups (-45%, or -37 cases). The numbers observed are consistent with those from 2012 and 2013.
The number of consultations for dehydration has risen very slightly this week (+24%, or +12 cases), mainly among children under 5 and those aged 15–74. The observed figures are consistent with those from 2013.
The indicator for insect bites is generally down this week across all age groups (-13%, or -60 cases). The observed figures are equivalent to those from 2012 and 2013.
The indicator for isolated fever, which was on the rise last week among children under 5, is stable this week for all age groups, except among those over 75 (+35%, or +19 visits). The numbers are consistent with those observed in 2012 and 2013.
The other indicators monitored for this season are either stable (gastroenteritis, asthma, general malaise) or declining (allergies, -12%, or -98 cases).
