Key Points
In Week 26 (June 26–July 2, 2023), activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.
Other seasonal indicators showed little fluctuation, with increases of less than 15% and moderate to low patient volumes. Among children, there was an increase in procedures for bronchitis (+13%, or +72 procedures), dental and ENT conditions (+10%, or +49 procedures), and among 2- to 14-year-olds, procedures for isolated fever (+11%, or +84 procedures), viral syndrome (+6%, or 28 additional cases), and among children under 2 years old, for dermatological conditions (+12%, or 13 additional cases), against a backdrop of a decline in cases for allergies and insect bites.
Among adults, there was an increase in procedures for heatstroke among those aged 15–74 (+61%, or +52 procedures). In this same age group, there was also an increase in procedures for urinary tract infections (+5%, or +95 procedures) and viral meningitis, though the numbers remain low (18 procedures in S26 vs. 10 in S25).
Regarding mental health indicators, there was a slight increase in cases of anxiety among adults aged 45 and older (+12%, or +48 cases) and depressive states among those aged 45–64 (+14%, or +10 cases).
Finally, in small sample sizes, procedures for suspected COVID-19 were slightly higher across all age groups (+14% across all ages, or +56 procedures).
