Summary
In Week 30 (July 20–26, 2020), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined across all age groups (down 13% and 6% among children and adults, respectively, representing 1,931 and 2,935 fewer procedures).
Over the past week, after rising for four weeks, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 decreased by 25%, with 2,384 procedures recorded in Week 30 compared to 3,165 in Week 29. This decline affected all age groups in comparable proportions. The share of activity across all ages is down slightly to 4% (vs. 5% in Week 29).
The decline is observed in all regions except Corsica (13 visits in Week 30 vs. 10 in Week 29) and ranges from -40% in Centre-Val-de-Loire to -6% in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. We also note a decrease of -37% in Occitanie and Pays de la Loire, -33% in Normandy, and -29% in Brittany.
The regions of Île-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes recorded the highest number of cases (16%, 16%, and 13% of cases recorded nationally, respectively).
Since the start of surveillance, 68,506 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
Among other conditions, there has been an increase in visits for heatstroke across all age groups (+51% across all ages, or +46 visits) and particularly among those aged 15–74 (+63.5%, or +35 visits).
Among people aged 75 and older, several indicators are rising in small sample sizes: trauma (+9%), allergies (+24%), insect bites (+16%), and deterioration in general health (+10%).
