Summary

  • In week 29 of 2017 (July 17–23), following a week of high activity in week 28 (the long weekend of July 14), all-cause activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined across all age groups, by approximately 26% among children under 15 and 6% among adults aged 15 and older.

  • Most seasonal summer illnesses are down across all age groups, in line with the overall decline in activity. However, there was an increase in consultations for general malaise among adults aged 15 and older (+7%) and for conditions directly related to heat among children under 15 (+24%) and adults aged 15 and older (36%).

  • Most of the most common conditions are also on the decline across all age groups. Nevertheless, there was a moderate increase in consultations for falls and bronchitis among adults aged 75 and older (+5% and +8%, respectively), for acute abdominal pain among children aged 2–14 (+10%), and for gastroenteritis among adults aged 15–74 (+2%).
