Key Points

• In Week 29 (July 15–21, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to decline among children (-7%), particularly among those aged 2–14, and remained stable among adults.

• Among the seasonal indicators, we note:

  • for the second consecutive week across all age groups, an increase in cases of insect bites (+22%, or +249 cases across all ages) and heatstroke (+135%, or +81 cases), as well as dehydration among people over 75 (+36%, or +12 cases), linked to rising temperatures in many regions;

  • among children aged 2–14, an increase in cases of chickenpox (+12%, or +50 cases).

• Among respiratory indicators, there was a decrease in cases, particularly for whooping cough among children aged 2–14 (-37%, or -77 cases) and adults (-7%, or -93 cases).

• Although low, the number of cases is increasing among children under 2 years of age (+40%, or +8 cases). These figures remain at levels significantly higher than in previous years across all age groups.

• Conversely, there has been an increase in cases due to suspected COVID-19 among adults aged 15–74 (+8%, or +155 cases), while case numbers have stabilized among children and continue to decline among adults over 75.

• Among other indicators, there was an increase in cases due to skin symptoms among children under 2 years of age (+25%, or +28 cases) and for conjunctivitis among adults (+15%, or +70 cases).

• The other most common conditions and seasonal indicators remain stable.
