Summary
During Week 26 (June 25–July 1), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups.
Among seasonal conditions, linked to the weekend’s heat wave, there was an increase in visits across all age groups for heatstroke and insect bites (+134%, or +195 visits, and +35%, or +320 visits, respectively), with activity levels higher than those observed in the same week of the previous two years. Among adults, there was an increase in allergies (+18%, or +132 visits) and, exclusively among those aged 15–74, infectious conjunctivitis (+12%, or +21 visits). Among children under 15, there was a sharp increase in chickenpox (+28%, or +105 visits). Finally, there was a slight increase in burns among children over 2 years of age and adults under 75 years of age (+17%, or +24 visits).
Among non-specific indicators, there was an increase in visits for fever alone among children under 15 years of age (+17%, or +179 visits), for dehydration across all age groups (+57%, or +58 visits), and for malaise among adults aged 15–74 (+7%, or 38 visits).
Among the most common conditions, the observed increases primarily affect adults aged 75 and older, with a rise in deaths (+27%, or +59 visits) and falls (+14%, or +22 visits).
