SOS Médecins National Newsletter, July 19, 2016
Summary
Overall activity at clinics has risen sharply among adults, particularly those aged 75 and older. This increase is linked to the long weekend of July 14. Activity has risen slightly among children under 2 years of age and declined among children aged 2–14.
Among the main diagnoses, there has been an increase in consultations for chickenpox and trauma among children under 15, as well as for allergies, conjunctivitis, and skin conditions among children under 2. Among adults, there has been a notable increase in consultations for urinary tract infections, as well as for bronchitis and acute abdominal pain among those aged 75 and older.
Among the main seasonal indicators, consultations for allergies are on the rise across all age groups, as are consultations for asthma and insect bites, but only among adults. The other indicators are declining.
