Key Points
In week 28 (July 8–14, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among children (-9%) and remained stable among adults.
Most of the most common conditions, such as seasonal indicators, remained stable. Among respiratory indicators, we observed:
An increase in cases of whooping cough among children (+12%, or +24 cases) and stabilization among adults (-2%, or +6 cases). These figures remain at levels significantly higher than in previous years;
A continued decline in cases for suspected COVID-19 among those aged 2–14 and 75 and older, and stabilization among those aged 15–74 and under 2 years old.
Among other indicators, we note:
Among children and adults, an increase in cases due to insect bites across all age groups (+31%, or +270 cases) and heatstroke in small numbers among those aged 2–14 and 15–74 (+30 cases);
Among children under 2 years of age, an increase in cases of chickenpox (+22%, or +33 cases) and vomiting (+31%, or +12 cases);
Among adults, there was an increase in cases of trauma (+11%, or +254 cases), falls among those aged 75 and older (+16%, or +22 cases), and, also in this age group, asthma attacks (+39%, or +11 cases), allergies (+19%, or +9 cases), and low back pain/sciatica (+17%, or +37 cases).
