Summary

In Week 26 (June 24–30, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity increased among children under 2 years of age (+9%, or +424 cases) and those aged 2–14 (+7%, or +1,217 cases), while remaining stable among adults.

Over the past week, several indicators have risen, particularly those related to the heat wave:

  • Heatstroke across all age groups, with an 800% increase (1,180 cases), accounting for 1.9% of the network’s activity.

  • Dehydration across all age groups (+224%, or 184 cases).

  • Insect bites across all age groups (+56%, or +579 cases).

There has also been an increase in cases of isolated fever (+36%, or 356 cases), allergies (+25%, or 133 cases), and chickenpox (+7%, or 50 cases) among children, and cases of general malaise (+27%, or 100 cases) among adults.

The increase in the most common conditions is dominated by heat-related indicators.
